Mike’s interview on Nevada NewsMakers airs today on northern Nevada’s KRNV-TV Channel 4. Tell your friends to tune in!
We will post the video on the blog when it becomes available.

Mike opposes the gross receipts tax being proposed by big government politicians in Nevada. Read his statement below to learn why this tax would harm our economy:
A gross receipts tax is one of the great injustices that politics imposes upon an uninformed citizenry. What the politicians like to hide is that a gross receipts tax is founded on a pyramiding effect. This means that a final product (depending on the product) might have component elements which have been taxed during pre-production, during production, and post- production. Because of the gross receipt tax’s pyramid structure, the final product is costlier to the public. Higher final cost in tough economic times means that American products cannot compete with cheaper imports.
Nuclear Week has been a great success! Mike’s explanation of why Nevada should open Yucca Mountain and bring the nuclear industry to Nevada has reached Nevadans loud and clear through his videos, endorsements, policy statements, and TV interviews!
Yucca Mountain represents a safe opportunity to start a new industry in Nevada akin to gaming or mining. The project will not be a dump; in fact up to 95% of used nuclear fuel can be reprocessed. Yucca Mountain will be the leading reprocessing center in America, and it will create thousands of jobs and bring billions in revenue to Nevada.
Nevada Will Become the Center of the Nation’s Expertise in Nuclear Materials Handling, Reprocessing, and Repository Disposal Technologies Mike Montandon: Statement of Support for Reprocessing Nuclear Waste
Nevada is suffering through record underemployment and horrific 13% unemployment. To create long term jobs and economic prosperity for Nevada, the state must diversify its corporate base.
Nuclear power is the future of global clean energy. America is beginning to embrace nuclear energy as more than a secondary form of power generation. Now is the time for Nevada to start our own nuclear industry around Yucca Mountain lead the national movement towards America’s nuclear based energy economy.
Yucca Mountain is now more than a disposal site. It is a place where spent nuclear fuel can be processed for reuse. Up to 95% of spent nuclear fuel can be re-used. While reprocessing technology needs to be refined and enhanced, Yucca Mountain can and should become the leading reprocessing center in America.
